‘Apotheosis’

One of the reasons I started the colour.light.energy  blog was to have a place to keep experiences and creative treasures – of the colour and light variety, of course!

Here is beautiful video of an experience I can only dream about seeing in real life. The wondrous Northern Lights.

One of the meanings of apotheosis is ‘to make divine’, and this video production does just that: reflecting the divine beauty of the Northern Lights. Henry Jun Wah Lee from Evosia Studios has created a superb film of this natural wonder that few are fortunate enough to experience in person.

The past year I have been filming the Northern Lights in Iceland during the Solar Maximum — the peak of solar activity that occurs every 10-11 years. On March 17th, 2015, I was fortunate enough to be at the right place at the right time when the solar storm of the decade hit Earth. The sky was covered with auroras so strong, they were visible at dusk. This continued all night until dawn. In the film you will see rare red, yellow, white, blue and violet purple auroras. I was also fortunate to get shots of aurora borealis lighting up the sky while the Bárðarbunga volcano was erupting. The orange/red glow you will see in the distance is from the hot lava spewing from the volcano.  ~ Henry Jun Wah Lee

The choice of music by Ludovico Einaudi enhances the visual experience. (One of my musical favourites!) Enjoy.
